China's Ministry of Finance on Wednesday issued a new guideline that calls for greater integrity for Certified Public Accountants on its website.

The ministry said in a statement accompanying the guideline the document aims to better adapt the CPA profession to China's high-quality growth. The newly formulated guideline requires CPA practitioners to keep integrity in mind in professional practices, improve their service quality and work harder to foster a law-abiding, integrity-based climate for CPA professionals.

The guideline said integrity is the essential foundation for the profession, adding that finance authorities at all levels should guide and push for relative implementation. The role of CPA associations shall be utilized in professional discipline and fully ensure integrity building in examinations, registration and training, the guideline said.
