Survey: Americans now less patriotic, less religious

Americans are placing far less importance on patriotism, religion and other values, according to a new survey by the Wall Street Journal and the NORC at the University of Chicago. The poll surveyed 1,019 adult Americans from March 1-13. The poll found 38 percent of respondents said patriotism was very important to them, down from 70 percent in 1998. And 39 percent said religion was very important, down from 62 percent in 1998.
