Whole Foods Market has abruptly closed its flagship store in San Francisco amid concerns that an increase in crime at the supermarket poses a threat to employee safety. The upscale grocery store, which opened in the Market Street area downtown in March 2022, closed on Monday, although it said there is a chance it could reopen. The store frequently experienced shoplifting and use of its restrooms for drug use.
