Courts in China and Vietnam have pledged to improve judicial cooperation in more aspects, in a bid to help strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries and promote development on both sides.

The pledge was made by the highest courts of the two nations during a seminar held in Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Friday.

Regarding the judicial cooperation as one of the most important areas in which the two countries can work together, Zhang Jun, president of the Supreme People's Court of China, said that more legal exchanges and experience sharing should be increased to advance economic and social growth of both sides by rule of law.

He called for courts of the two countries, especially those located in bordering areas, to have communications in more fields and through more channels, so as to trust each other more and obtain new achievements in judiciary.

He emphasized the need to transform judicial initiatives into concrete actions, adding that it will contribute to development, stability and the well-being of people in both countries.

Nguyen Hoa Binh, chief justice of Vietnam's Supreme People's Court, highlighted the significance of judicial exchanges between the two sides, as problems such as cross-border commercial disputes and transnational crimes have been emerging amid growing trade and investment cooperation.

Expressing his agreement to strengthen bilateral ties of the two countries, he said that the seminar would be the opportunity for both sides to further implement judicial assistance treaties, as well as to deepen cooperation of solving cross-regional business disputes and fighting transnational crimes.
