World tour marks singer's debut anniversary

Singer-actress Rainie Yang announced the launch of her world tour, Like A Star, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of her debut.

She will give concerts in Chinese cities, including Beijing, Chengdu, Fuzhou and Guangzhou.

The idea of the tour started three years ago, which, as Yang says, is not only a celebration of her own career but also her fans.

"We grow up together. We sing the same songs together. During the tour, I am not the star. They are," said Yang in Beijing on Friday.

For the tour, she also received dance class training, such as ballet, contemporary and traditional Chinese, which she learned as a child.

Born in Taiwan, Yang started acting as a teenager and later launched her music career as a member of the pop group, 4 in Love.

She starred in TV dramas, such as Meteor Garden and Devil Beside You as well as performing soundtracks of TV dramas. The title song of her 10th album, Rings, was nominated as Song of the Year during the 28th Golden Melody Awards.

In 2021, Yang joined in the second season of the popular reality TV show, Sisters Who Make Waves, by Mango TV. The show features female celebrities above 30 years old, who complete to be part of a new girl-band.
