China voices its concerns over sanctions in talks with Yellen

China expressed its concerns over the US sanctions against the country during US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's visit in Beijing.
Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng on Saturday met with Yellen in Beijing. Noting that the overstretching of national security does no good to normal economic and trade exchanges, the Chinese side expressed concerns over the sanctions and restrictions imposed by the United States on China, Xinhua News Agency reported on Saturday.
Talks between the two sides were "constructive", Xinhua reported, as they held in-depth, candid and practical exchanges on the economic and financial situation of the two countries and the world as well as on working together to address common global challenges.
The two sides agreed to strengthen communication and cooperation on addressing global challenges and continue maintaining exchanges and interactions.
Before the meeting,Pan Gongsheng, Party secretary of the People's Bank of China, the country's central bank, met with Yellen on Friday, during which they exchanged views on economic and financial issues of mutual interest, the PBOC said in a statement on Saturday.
