Growing talent gap in US chip space emerges as makers spend billions

US President Joe Biden signed the Chips and Science Act one year ago with the aim of revitalizing the domestic semiconductor industry by providing substantial subsidies. The initiative leads to the establishment of factories by global chip manufacturers such as Taiwan's TSMC and South Korea's Samsung. Total investments have reached $231 billion.

However, as the implementation of factory establishments began, companies soon realized a severe shortage of talent. TSMC announced a delay in the production launch of its $40 billion factory in Arizona due to talent shortages
