Four Chinese government departments have pledged to strengthen copyright protection of cultural products regarding museums, art galleries and libraries, with stronger supervision of audiobook and knowledge-sharing platforms.
The pledge was highlighted in this year's copyright campaign launched recently by the National Copyright Administration, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security and the Cyberspace Administration of China.
The four departments announced the campaign on Tuesday, adding that it will end in November.
Greater focus will also be placed on fighting those who broadcast unauthorized programs related to the upcoming 19th Asian Games, which will be held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, next month, according to the NCA.
The campaign will also intensify efforts to stop piracy on e-commerce platforms and welcomes more people to report suspicious cases.
Since 2005, the NCA has launched such campaigns with other government agencies to jointly fight copyright infringements, especially those concerning online videos, music and literature. The campaigns have not only targeted violators, but also contributed to protecting copyrights in cyberspace, the NCA said.
