In July 2022, BYD officially entered the Japanese passenger car market and has since opened 15 stores in Japan, covering cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, Yokohama, Nagoya and Fukuoka.

BYD plans to collaborate with high-quality local dealers and partners to launch 100 outlets in Japan by the end of 2025, aiming to meet the growing demand from consumers for new energy vehicles.

As of September 2023, BYD's cumulative sales of NEVs exceeded 5.4 million units. Its presence in the new energy sector spans across more than 70 countries and regions, encompassing over 400 cities, as the automaker is achieving steady progress in its globalization strategy.

Sailing abroad has become a splendid landscape in the Chinese automotive industry, especially the NEV sector. In the first nine months of this year, China's NEV exports reached 825,000 units, up more than 110 percent year-on-year, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
