SAIC Motor's Roewe marque launched the D7 on Wednesday in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, as part of its efforts to enter the mid-size NEV segment.

As the first model of the D family, the D7 SUV measures 4,890 millimeters in length and 1,890 mm in width, with the legroom in the back seat extending for 933 mm.

A highlight of the model is the heightened comfort of its seats, which feature nine layers of materials and a U-shaped design in accordance with ergonomics.

The model features the Banma operating system and dual 12.3-inch liquid crystal displays, which enable, among other things, the smooth transfer of navigation information between one's smartphone and the car.

The D7 has two variants, the D7 EV and the D7 DMH, a plug-in hybrid sedan. The D7 EV has rear-wheel drive. With a maximum output of 155 kilowatts and a top torque of 310 Newton meters, it accelerates from 0-100 kilometers per hour in 6.5 seconds. The two battery options offer 510 km or 610 km on one charge.

The D7 DMH sports a 1.5-liter engine. It generates a maximum output of 150 kW and a top torque of 330 Nm. Its range can reach up to 1,400 km.
