China committed to supporting business cooperation with US

China has always been committed to advancing global economic and trade exchanges, supporting legitimate business cooperation between Chinese and US companies for mutual benefit, said the Ministry of Commerce on Thursday.

The ministry made the remarks after the US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said recently that the country is looking into the specifics of three new artificial intelligence accelerator chips that California-based Nvidia Corp is developing for China.

Containment and suppression cannot stop the progress of China and its business, said Shu Jueting, spokeswoman of the Ministry of Commerce.

The US has repeatedly politicized and securitized economic and technological issues, misused export control measures, and restricted its own companies from trading and investing in China, said Shu.

This forces companies to abandon opportunities in the Chinese market and derails win-win opportunities, ultimately disrupting the international economic and trade order, and destabilizing industrial and supply chains, she said, stressing this is not in the interest of any party.
