Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng met with Jay Shambaugh, Under Secretary for International Affairs at US Treasury and his delegation in Beijing on Tuesday to discuss China-US economic and trade relations.

The meeting, which took place during the third gathering of the China-US Economic Working Group, emphasized the importance of implementing the crucial consensus which was reached between the two countries' leaders.

He Lifeng stressed the need for both sides to leverage the channels provided by the China-US Economic Working Group to deepen exchanges, build consensus, and foster stable economic relations. The goal, he emphasized, was to ensure mutual benefits for businesses and citizens of both nations.

The China-US Economic Working Group, established under the leadership of the two countries' heads of state, serves as a vital communication platform in the economic sphere. Led by deputy minister-level officials from both nations, the group aims to promote and stabilize economic and trade relations between China and the United States.
