US, British naval forces strike Houthi camps in Yemen's Hodeidah: Houthi TV

SANAA -- The US and British naval forces on Wednesday launched two strikes on Houthi camps in Yemen's Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported.

The strikes hit Ras Issa, a northwestern coastal district in the city, the television said without providing further information.

There were no confirmations yet from the US-British maritime coalition on the strikes.

The US Central Command said the Houthi fighters launched multiple missile attacks on Tuesday towards the southern part of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, targeting US Navy forces in the Red Sea with three missiles and a Marshall Island-flagged, Greek-owned-and-operated bulk carrier transiting the Gulf of Aden with another three missiles.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations said on the social media platform X that the Greek vessel continued sailing despite slight damage to it.

The Houthis have not commented yet on the alleged missile attacks.

The Houthi forces in Yemen have launched more than 50 missile attacks on the shipping lane since mid-November, saying they target Israeli, the US, and British commercial vessels in support of Palestinians in Gaza.

The US-British maritime coalition has vowed to protect international trade in this world's most vital maritime route.

The well-armed Houthi group controls much of northern Yemen after it ousted the internationally recognized Yemeni government from the capital Sanaa and the strategic city of Hodeidah in late 2014.
