Since the beginning of this year, Shanxian county of Heze, East China's Shandong province, has witnessed the rapid development of several key industries, such as biomedicine, new energies and materials, and high-end equipment manufacturing.

36 new projects, with a total investment of 22.8 billion yuan ($3.17 billion), have been carried out in these sectors, leading to a significant increase in local electricity demand.

"My firm plans to install 10 new production lines this year, all of which will be equipped with intelligent and precision instruments," said Li Lei, head of Shandong Dechen New Energy Technology Co Ltd.

"At first, I was worried the firm's old electrical equipment would not be able to meet our surging electricity demand. Luckily, the local power supplier helped us solve the problem before we officially started the project," said Li.

According to Li, with the help of the State Grid's Shanxian Power Supply Co, Dechen is expected to produce 12 GW of high-efficiency bifacial photovoltaic modules per year, which will generate operating income of about 18 billion yuan and effectively fill the current market gap.

Dechen is one of many firms that have benefited from the power supply company's services. The company said it regularly sends staff to visit its customers to inspect, tighten, and temperature test their key electrical equipment, such as transformers, distribution cabinets and power lines. The staff also gather customer requirements and promptly eliminate the electrical hazards identified during their visits.

Besides, the company said it develops customized plans for firms to use electricity more smartly, thereby lowering their electricity bills. When it comes to key projects, the company provides them with green channels and dedicated account managers so as to ensure a stable power supply.

The power supplier's staff have so far visited 26 local firms, helping them overcome three challenges in electricity consumption and mitigate five electrical hazards.
