NEW YORK - Three people were killed in shootings in a suburban township outside Philadelphia in the United States on Saturday, local media reported.

The shootings took place at two homes in Falls Township in Bucks County. The victims were known to the shooter, reported The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The shootings appear to be domestic in nature, said the paper.

Following the incident, the shooter hijacked a car and remained at large. Falls Township residents were told to shelter in place, it said.

The Bucks County St Patrick's Day Parade was canceled following the shootings in Falls Township, the paper reported.
