China Coast Guard said on Saturday that it has verified the Philippines' first resupply of their daily provisions to its grounded warship at Ren'ai Reef, after both countries agreed to manage the situation in the region.

The CCG spokesperson Gan Yu said in a statement that, in accordance with a provisional arrangement reached between China and the Philippines, the Philippines dispatched a civilian vessel on Saturday to deliver living supplies to its grounded warship at Ren'ai Reef.

He said that the CCG verified and monitored the entire process.

Gan expressed the hope that the Philippine side would honor its commitments and work with China to jointly manage the maritime situation.

The China Coast Guard will continue to carry out rights protection and law enforcement activities in the waters of the Nansha Islands, including Ren'ai Reef, in accordance with the law, the spokesperson said.
