Thailand welcomed five Thai nationals upon their arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport on Sunday morning, following their release from captivity by Hamas after being held hostage for over a year.
Their employers have promised to provide compensation, recognizing the contributions of the Thai workers.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Maris Sangiampongsa, along with Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Russ JaJalichand and Boonsong Thapchaiyut, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, welcomed them upon their arrival from Israel.

Maris was very pleased that all five had safely returned to their homeland and warmly reunited with their families amid a joyful moment.
He also emphasized the Thai government's unwavering efforts over the past 15 months, working with full determination and capacity to ensure the success of the mission.
He thanked the State of Israel, friendly countries, Chief of Defence Forces' team, the Ministry of Labour, and all relevant Thai agencies for their vital roles in securing the release of the Thai nationals.
Maris also reiterated the government's commitment to working continuously towards the release of a remaining Thai hostage, and to bring the remains of two Thai nationals back to Thailand.
He also reaffirmed that all government agencies are determined to assist all Thais who are working abroad.
The Labour Ministry said there were about 35,000 Thai workers in Israel before the conflict between Hamas and Israel began on Oct 7, 2023.
