Gansu takes emergency steps to safeguard dams, reservoirs

Seven new rainfall gauges along the Tao River enabled precise forecasts of sediment arrival. Using real-time analytics, crews opened sediment‑flushing gates to reduce siltation, protect equipment, and strengthen flood-control readiness.
