SEOUL - Chinese President Hu Jintao left Seoul on early Wednesday morning to attend the 4th summit of BRICS countries in Indian Capital New Delhi on March 28-29.

During the summit, the leaders of China, Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa will have in-depth discussions on global economic management, sustainable development and cooperation among the five BRICS countries on the theme "Partnership for Stability, Security and Prosperity".

A joint communiqué and joint press conference by the BRICS leaders are expected after the summit on Thursday, said diplomats.

The summit is held against the background of the complicated changes of international situation, Euro-zone debt crisis, the US financial problems and turbulences in West Asia and North Africa, as well as multiple uncertainties of world economic recovery.

While the BRICS countries have maintained stable and fast growth and become one of the major driving force for world economic growth, China and India have both lowered down its annual economic growth in 2012, leading to speculation that whether the emerging economies bloc could still fuel global economy.

Figures show that BRICS countries account for 42 percent of world population and their GDP takes up 20 percent of the world production, while their trade volume occupies 15 percent of global trade volume and these countries are contributing to 50 percent of the current world growth rate.

According to latest news, Hu is expected to meet Russian President Dmitry Medvedev soon after his arrival. It will be the first time that the two heads of states meet after Russia held its presidential election early this month.

World hotpot issues including Syria crisis, and bilateral issues are high on the agenda of their meeting.
