The launch ceremony of "Parcels for Mothers", the latest of a series of charity campaigns by China Woman Development Foundation under the All-China Women's Federation to help women in poverty-stricken areas, was held on May 22 in Beijing.
The project aims to help women by mailing them packages that contain daily necessities. The packages, each worth 100 yuan ($15.8) or 200 yuan, will be delivered in a transparent and "one-to-one" basis.
China South Industries Group and several other organizations made contributions at the ceremony, where postal staff demonstrated that information about the recipients of the packages can be traced in an open system. Donors can also receive feedback cards from the recipients.
Donors can make contributions at 360,000 branches of China Post, as well as through Internet payment platforms and short messages.
