Xinjiang completes development assistance projects ahead of schedule

The Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region has completed all the development assistance projects in advance of the annual deadline.

Liu Yanliang, vice-chairman of the CPPCC (Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference) of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, said that by the end of October all of the 1,294 assistant projects have been proceeding smoothly, with most having been completed. Aid funds allocated to Xinjiang totaled 11.38 billion yuan ($1.83 billion), exceeding the target fundraising rate.
