Heilongjiang province in northeast China plans to build its first nuclear power plant, xinhuanet.com.reported on Wednesday.
The Heilongjiang Branch of China Huaneng Group will build the plant at one of four sites: Hailin city, Fangzhen township or Tonghe township.
Nuclear power plant experts have started first round inspections of the hydrology, meteorology, geology, environmental and social conditions of the sites. More time is needed to make the final decision on the construction site, the report said.
