Huanjiang: a World Natural Heritage site

The karst landform is the result of a tectonic plate movement and erosion over millions of years. Many towering hills, taper-type hills and dales constitute the peak cluster depression. Although it is short of soil and water, the karst area is still home to various kinds of trees, dense forests and precious animals and plants, which gains the area a name, “epilithic forest”.

With a total area of 4,572 square meters, the county has well-preserved vegetations and is rich in natural tourism resources. After gaining the title of World Natural Heritage, Huanjiang county’s government had increased the investment and development of local tourism and enhanced the construction of transportation and tourism infrastructure within the area. It will be developed into an international tourism resort in five to 10 years.
