Since its launch in May 1974, the Golf has been hugely successful around the globe, having sold over 30 million units worldwide. The Golf China Concept, premiered by FAW-Volkswagen at Auto China 2014 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Golf, is one of the most premium models in its class. On the outside, the concept car can be recognized by its exclusive “Magic Morning” color and machine-polished “Madrid” 19-inch alloy wheels. Another distinctive feature is a badge on the B-pillars showing an engraved laurel wreath with the number “40”. In the interior, wood inlays are used for the first time in the latest Golf. The two-tone interior is particularly exclusive and features leather upholstery (“Sensitive” type of leather) that comes in two colors: “St. Tropez” (bright as a sandy beach) and black, creating an ambience of warmth and luxury. The center console and casings of the instruments and air vents are upgraded with a piano-finish decor, giving greater prominence to the distinctive character and exclusive style of the commemorative model.

The T-ROC concept offers outlook on new SUV model series in Asia premiere

Volkswagen has two of the world’s most successful SUVs: the Tiguan and the Touareg. In its Asia premiere a tAuto China 2014, the T-ROC concept offers a glimpse at the future of Volkswagen SUVs, boasting an eye-catching progressive design and a full range of state-of-the-art features, including LED headlights and removable roof halves.

The T-ROC combines the talents of an all-wheel drive SUV – which does not shy away from rocky off-road trails – with the light summery air of a convertible. This is achieved since the middle section of the roof consists of two halves, which can be removed with just a few hand movements and stowed in the boot. Cameras operate at the front and rear, and they are supported by LED spotlights in the dark. The T-ROC is powered by a 135 kW / 184 PS turbo-diesel engine with 380 Nm of torque and can be driven in three different driving modes: “Street”, “Off-road” and “Snow”. The fuel consumption of the 2.0 TDI is a low 4.9 l/100 km.
