Yizhou, a county-level city in Hechi, Guangxi, held a promotion conference for the upcoming Shangsi Shopping Festival, being held from April 8 to 11.

The shopping festival will be held during the period of Shangsi Festival to help promote the ethnic culture of the Zhuang minority group and accelerate the new leaping development of Yizhou's tourism and business industries.

The shopping festival will have five exhibition areas, promoting tourist attractions, silk products, local specialties, agricultural produce and specialty snacks. Tourists will be able to taste authentic traditional specialty food and experience folk culture such as embroidered ball throwing, the singing of toasts and bamboo pole dancing.

At present, 53 businesses have applied for the exhibition, covering industries of tourism, silk farming and agriculture.
