Nuclear summit starts afternoon plenary session

SEOUL - The 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit kicked off its afternoon plenary session here Tuesday.

Leaders and representatives from more than 50 nations and four international institutions continue their discussion regarding actions against nuclear terrorism, protection of nuclear materials and facilities as well as prevention of illicit trafficking of nuclear materials.

The afternoon session will be concluded with the Seoul Communique, which outlines the goal of minimizing stocks, the use of highly enriched uranium (HEU) and plutonium, and measures of nuclear safety protection.
