BEIJING: Qiushi magazine, affiliated to the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, launched its English edition Wednesday on the eve of the 60th National Day of New China.
The English version of Qiushi, meaning "Seeking Truth," is a quarterly magazine that mainly selects and translates important articles published in the magazine's Chinese version, its subsidiary Red Flag Manuscript, and other important Chinese newspapers and magazines, according to its letter to readers.
It also aims to serve as a "high-end channel" to publicize China's development theories and modes as well as an "important window" for overseas political circles, academic circles and the public to understand Chinese affairs, the letter read.
The Chinese version of Qiushi was founded on July 1, 1988, the 67th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. Its predecessor was Hongqi, or the Red Flag. The magazines have been important for publicizing theories of the CPC Central Committee to direct work of the Party and the country.
