Palace Museum opens digital exhibition

To celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Palace Museum in Beijing, the exhibition, Discovering the Hall of Mental Cultivation: A Digital Experience, opens at the landmark's Duanmen Digital Gallery on Tuesday, and will run through Nov 30.
Through a large immersive projection screen and virtual reality helmet, visitors can enter the Hall of Mental Cultivation through the virtual world, and view precious relics using advanced technologies, such as AI, VR as well as voice and image recognition. Visitors can even "talk with" major officials in the ancient royal court and take a look at the emperors' bedrooms. The Hall of Mental Cultivation was the residence of the last eight emperors of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
