The shipyard of the COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry Co Ltd in Dalian, Northeast China's Liaoning province handed over the first subsea support vessel to its buyer, Danish Maersk Supply Service on Monday.

Danish Maersk Supply Service, a unit of shipping and oil group A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S, has ordered four subsea support vessels, with options for two more, from the Chinese shipbuilder in 2014.

Maersk Installer has become the first vessel of its kind exported by a Chinese shipbuilder. It is 137.6 meters long, 27 meters wide and 11 meters tall, having a deck area of 1,850 square meters. Its displacement reached 9,788 tons.

The vessel allows operations within 3,000 meters under the water's surface at any sea areas, except ice-covered areas in Arctic and around the Antarctic.
