4. Two more sites included in the world heritage list
During the 41st session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee from July 2 to 12 in Krakow of Poland, Hoh Xil in Qinghai province was included in the world heritage list as a natural site and China's Gulangyu historic international settlement as a cultural site.
With an area of about two square kilometers, Gulangyu is a pedestrian-only island off the coast of Xiamen, Fujian province in East China. Due to its geographic location, the island has acted as a natural barrier to Xiamen, an important gateway city of China since ancient times.
