Changes to daily life from 'two sessions' policies
With the "two sessions" just concluded, many changes are expected to take place in our lives this year. Let's see what some of them are.
1. More affordable telecom services
Domestic data roaming charges will be scrapped before July 1.
The cost of mobile data packages will be lowered by 30 percent by the end of this year, and the cost of broadband services for both homes and companies will be reduced.
Also, broadband services will cover all urban and rural areas.
2. Personal income tax threshold to be raised
China will raise the threshold of personal income tax and create expense deductions for items like children's education and treatment for serious diseases, Premier Li Keqiang said in the Government Work Report delivered to the first session of the 13th National People's Congress.
3. Property tax
Premier Li Keqiang said earlier this month the country is steadily pushing for the legislation of a property tax this year, which experts expect will be completed by 2020.
