When the "second season" of his concept stage show, 2047 Apologue, premiered at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing on June 12, Chinese director Zhang Yimou sat among the audience, not just watching the show but also reflecting the whole process of making it.
For the 68-year-old, the way to keep himself inspired is to create another new work.
In this new production, Zhang continued his idea from the original 2047 Apologue, which was staged at the NCPA last June, by dealing with the theme of the relationship between human beings and technology.
