China’s shared accommodation market has witnessed skyrocketing growth in recently years. According to the China Sharing Accommodation Development Report 2018 released by the State Information Center, the number of homes used for short-term rentals was about 3 million in 2017, with 76 million people enjoying accommodation service provided by 2 million homeowners. The market transaction scale was about 14.5 billion yuan ($2.23 billion), up 70.6 percent over 2016.
