Spain's PM Sanchez to visit Cuba
Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez will visit Cuba from Nov 22 to 23 at the invitation of the Cuban president Miguel Diaz-Canel - the first by a Spanish prime minister in more than 30 years.
The last Spanish prime minister to visit Cuba was Felipe Gonzalez in 1986.
Spain is the main foreign investor in several sectors of the Cuban economy, including tourism and financial services, and is one of the island’s biggest trading partners, according to Spanish foreign ministry figures.
Spain was Cuba's third-biggest supplier of goods in 2016 after China and Venezuela.
