In terms of popular travel destinations, the area of Jiefangbei, or Liberation Monument, in Southwest China's Chongqing remains the most popular business district, while Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Xi'an, Xiamen, Qingdao, Guangzhou and Nanjing are listed in the top 10 picks for this year's domestic destinations.
According to a report by Tujia.com, a Chinese online platform for booking shared accommodation, an average traveler will spend 1,040 yuan ($146.2) on accommodation during this year's Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, with over 27 percent of travelers choosing homestays instead of hotels.
In addition, the majority of people made their reservations two weeks ahead of the holiday, and more than 80 percent of travelers prefer to stay at their travel destinations for less than three days.
