Chinese and Australian musicians joined forces to bring moonlit musical experiences to Powerhouse Museum in Sydney on Friday and Saturday, in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the traditional Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival.
Directed by Australian composer John Huie, the concerts fused Chinese tunes with Western classical music, featuring master instrumentalists from Southwest China's Guizhou province and five Australian musicians.
The two-day event was co-organized by the China Cultural Center in Sydney, the Bank of China (Sydney Branch) and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Guizhou province.
