Gerry Paul, CubaDupa’s art director, said thousands of artists wished to be back on the stage through the festival, as many of them were unable to hold shows due to the epidemic.

The center director Guo Zongguang said it’s the first time the center participated in the festival, which could be an opportunity to further push the cultural exchanges between the two nations.

Launched in 1998, CubaDupa was organized by the Wellington City Council and the Creative Capital Arts Trust.
