HK students pick brains of national aerospace experts

"What's the view in the outer space? Can astronauts look directly into the sun?"

"I think they can always put on sunglasses when they look at the sun. I haven't been to the outer space. Maybe, in the future, you could be the one who tell me how is the view there when you become an astronaut."

That conversation happened on Friday at a Pui Kiu College in Shatin, Hong Kong, between a students and the 83-year-old veteran aerospace expert Long Lehao, chief designer of China's Long March rocket series.

This is just a glimpse of the spontaneous interactions between the youngsters from Hong Kong and a group of top-notch national aerospace brains, who are currently on their third day of public tour in the city.

Tens of hundreds of teenagers in Hong Kong got the rare chance to have close contact with the nation's top aerospace scientists, as the national delegation visited six secondary and primary schools on Friday,

In the morning, delegates delivered lectures in three Hong Kong schools – St. Teresa Secondary School, Pui Kiu College, and Queen's College. The scientists include Qi Faren, first chief designer of China's Shenzhou spaceship, Zhang He, executive director of the Chang'e 4 probe project, and Long Lehao, chief designer of Long March rocket series.
