Digital seen as key for Beijing enterprises

Promoting the digital economy is a key element in Beijing's high-quality development, said Liu Yinchun, deputy secretary-general of the municipal government at an industrial forum on Sunday.

The forum focused on the digital transformation of State-owned enterprises based in Beijing, and experts and entrepreneurs shared their experiences and inspirations about the digital economy.

Home to 29,000 national high-tech enterprises and 93 unicorn companies, Beijing provides a broad platform for the digital economy's development.

On Aug 2, the city announced it would establish itself as a bench mark for digital economic development worldwide by 2030 by nurturing six leading areas related to the digital industry.
