Lhasa-Nyingchi railway in Tibet starts operation
The railway linking Lhasa, the capital of Southwest China's Tibet autonomous region, and the city of Nyingchi in eastern Tibet became operational on June 25.
With a designed speed of 160 km per hour, the 435-km railway marks the country's first electrified railroad operating on the plateau region. It will run Fuxing trains powered by both internal-combustion and electricity.
With the launch of the service, the Fuxing bullet train series will be available in all provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland.
