Hunan photographer freezes time

Tan hopes to contribute to the preservation of ancient buildings. When he visited one in Ningyuan county, he saw a broad crack in the wall. He reported it to village officials, warning that if they did nothing the structure would soon collapse.

"A few years later, I visited the place again and the crack had been repaired," he said.
