World's largest book fair kicks off in Frankfurt
The 74th Frankfurt Book Fair, the largest of its kind in the world, along with numerous stages on the exhibition grounds and more than 2,000 events, opened on Tuesday evening.
The book fair is projected to draw roughly 4,000 exhibitors from 95 countries and regions. More than 110 exhibitors from the Chinese mainland have been registered, according to the book fair's catalog.
Meanwhile, the organizers stressed that the world's largest book fair should be a place of discourse and togetherness in times of crisis and instability, said Juergen Boos, president and CEO of the Frankfurt Book Fair, noting that "presence helps against polarization."
Spain is this year's guest of honor. Around 200 authors and creatives from Spain will present their books at the fair, which ends on Sunday.
