Space Day activities highlight China's achievements


A series of events including science lectures were held on Monday in Haikou, Sanya and Wenchang, Hainan province, to celebrate the eighth Space Day of China.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of China's National Space Administration.
The lectures, which were mainly given by experts from institutions such as the Hainan Research Institute of Aerospace Information Research Institute and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, were open to junior and senior high school students, Hainan University students majoring in related areas and the public.
To help more people learn about China's space achievements and the development of Hainan's space industry, Wenchang Aerospace Science Center, Wenchang Aerospace Science Museum and the Hainan Research Institute of Aerospace Information were all open to the public free of charge on Monday.
Meanwhile, space-themed display boards, posters and video clips could be seen in many venues across the province.
