Tokyo holds Uenode Panda Mid-Autumn Festival 2023

The event also offered nearly 20 flavors of mooncakes, including those made with traditional fillings as well as favorites among younger people, such as lava custard mooncakes and snow skin mooncakes.

A 45-year-old woman from Chiba City bought three mooncakes at the festival.

"There seems to be so many delicious things, so I went to take a look. Since my family likes Chinese food, I hope to find some souvenirs and maybe some more Chinese goods," she said.

Apart from food and performances, there was an exhibition featuring photos of pandas taken by Takahiro Takauji, the owner of the website Mainichi Panda, or "panda every day". Takauji has been taking photos of the pandas in Ueno Zoo almost on a daily basis for nearly 12 years.
