Dating back to between 5,300 and 4,300 years ago, the Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City is famed for its exquisite jade artifacts and magnificent water conservation system. It is the legacy of a regional theocratic state and rice-growing culture, and is considered a key milestone in the development of early Chinese civilization.
