The Hungary-Serbia railway project reached a notable milestone on Thursday, when the track-laying for the Novi Sad-Subotica section was completed in the Serbian city of Backa Topola.

The 108-kilometer Novi Sad-Subotica railway section is part of the 342-km Hungary-Serbia high-speed railway, a landmark Belt and Road Initiative project.

A Chinese consortium formed by the China Railway International Group and China Communications Construction Company undertook the construction work in Serbia.
