The Chinese Cultural Relics Society and the Architectural Society of China jointly announced the ninth batch of Chinese 20th-century architectural heritage sites to a combined audience of architects, architecture scholars, and experts of cultural relics and museology on Saturday at the Second Workers’ Cultural Palace of Tianjin.

The new batch features 102 architectural sites, spanning churches, schools, museums, factories, office buildings and former residences of historical figures located around China. The announcement marked that 900 architectural structures erected in the last century have been given the Chinese 20th-century architectural heritage status since 2016.

Following the announcement was a seminar during which scholars and experts exchanged views on how to achieve urban renewal through revitalizing 20th-century architectural heritage.
