Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra concludes tour with Beijing concert

During the tour from May 8 to 18, the orchestra enchanted audiences in cities such as Wuxi in Jiangsu province, Shanghai, and Wuhan in Hubei province. Notably, 18-year-old violinist Paloma So graced several tour stops, captivating listeners with a rendition of the beloved Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto, a harmonious blend of Chinese folk and Western classical music.
Benedikt Fohr, the chief executive of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, emphasized that this tour commemorates the orchestra's 50th anniversary, solidifying its status as a cultural ambassador for Hong Kong. In addition to the concerts, the orchestra conducted a series of educational and outreach programs, introducing orchestral music to students in these cities.
