International Congress of Basic Science wraps up in Beijing

Huairou Science City has now entered a new development stage, with 37 scientific and technological facilities and institutions laid out, of which 10 are already operational. The number of scientific researchers in Huairou Science City has reached 23,000. Huairou District continues to support scientists and their work and life, striving to construct a favorable environment for technological innovation, and build a major world scientific center and a hotbed for innovation.

As the main venue for the 2024 ICBS and also the home to the Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications, the BBMG Xingfa Science and Technology Park has also won praise and attention from the participants. "I remember that this place was transformed from a suspended cement factory into an innovative base, and when I came back this year, the scenery is even more beautiful!" said a representative of the participants.

Huang Yu, who is in charge of Beijing BBMG Xingfa Technology Co Ltd, introduced that compared with last year, the park has competed the landscape of the area of 20,000 square meters, five conference buildings, one expert apartment building, one stadium, one library, and one supporting equipment building. "Not only is the scenery more beautiful, but the conference and research space is also larger this year. In the future, we plan to integrate with 100 hectares of the mining park to create a comprehensive spot for research, education and tourism," said Huang Yu.

As one of the organizers of the conference, the the Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications adheres to the development model of "75 percent applied mathematics and 25 percent basic mathematics research," and continues to build a top-notch scientific research teams. Through ICBS, the Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications hopes to create an international academic exchange platform, and to introduce more top scientists and young talents, cultivate outstanding students, jointly explore frontier interdisciplinary subjects, and provide supports for future technological development.
