G20 Roundtable at Tsinghua shines light on digital transformation empowering women and youth employment

The booming digital economy has the potential to unlock new possibilities for women through flexible work models, said Dong Kui, secretary-general of the China Women's Development Foundation, at the 2024 G20 Entrepreneurship Roundtable on Oct 15.
The roundtable, themed "promoting digital and sustainable entrepreneurship for high-quality and sufficient employment", focused on leveraging digital and sustainable entrepreneurship to drive high-quality employment opportunities. Co-hosted by Tsinghua University's G20 Entrepreneurship Research Center and Brazil's Ministry of Labor and Employment, this event marked the center's eighth consecutive year of hosting.
Yu Jiadong, vice-minister of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China, emphasized the Chinese government's strong commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem through policies that strengthen entrepreneurial skills and services, in his opening remarks.
He noted that the government is optimizing the entrepreneurial environment through various policy measures, including increased support for entrepreneurship, enhanced training for entrepreneurs, and improved entrepreneurial services. These efforts aim to drive high-quality and full employment.
